soulconstance
"Repetitive motion" -- not sure if it's a trigger, but it makes me want to run and scream from the room so it probably is... but if someone say, rubs my arm, by too long it starts to feel really bad. Mazdas.... or green cars --- Green is my favorite color, but now green cars remind me of my x-husband The phrase "I'm crazy about you".... reminds me of being assaulted the 3rd time in my teens Laying down to bed, especially if I'm not tired --- this probably sounds weird... but more often then not, I trigger when I lay down to sleep....... beds in general can be a serious trigger Being around children who were the age I was when I was abused. .... I probably have a lot more to add, but that's all I can say right now. Edited May 3, 2013 by soulconstance
Growler
- the smell of beer - the who song 'behind blue eyes' he said it was about him and me (god i wish i didn't have his blue eyes) - seeing girls sitting on their father's knee - doors being slightly open at night - the dark (so terrified of the dark)
greeneggsandcam
- rectangular fluorescent lights - people touching or breathing on my neck (especially the back or left side) - cuddling in beds - blankets being pulled over my head - people touching my left hip - going to my friend's house where it happened - seeing pictures of him - sexual assault in movies - skylights I guess most of them aren't that weird, I dunno, but some days it's hard to take the train because of the lights. SugarCane
For me the weirdest ones are older movies, Cleopatra, Ben Hur and Spartacus come to mind. That and certain churches.

sagray
I didn't realize this kind of thing happened to others as well. Thank you all for sharing. Some of my triggers would probably be: Someone touching my hair Being pushed or shoved Being cornered Being chastised or "called down", this involves anything where someone is correcting me for something Any time someone tries to be intimate These are the biggest ones for me
nomifan
Having stuff on my hands (wet or sticky, mud, etc)
angel.heart
ahh noms, yes..i hate that too. being sticky in general triggers me, and i have no clue if it's because i simply don't like being sticky, or if it's something more. -well, my most recent abuser's house is a bad trigger. bad things have happened there -shudders- -things/humans behind me -handcuffs, yes handcuffs, and other restraint-like objects. - i can't think of any others, but i know there are more. just weird things. not sure why i can't think at the moment. MyJourney00
I'm so glad to hear that it is not just me! Sometimes I think I am well on my way to healing, until a trigger happens... and then I realize just how much I am really affected to this day. Some of my triggers: - people commenting on my body (good or bad) - any type of pressure on my neck (necklace, blanket, arm, fully zipped up jacket) - being alone - people dismissing me when I am trying to say something I think is important - swiss army knives - when my mom doesn't back me up Sometimes I feel like I REALLY lose it when these things come up. Like I have this burst of uncontrollable anger. Is that a normal response to a trigger? Thanks for listening.

Bamama
I've got a few weird ones; -Being hugged, touched or trapped in anyway. -Being in a car that is shaking. -(the 'having my hands/arms held down above my head', that gets me too). -Reaching orgasm. -Name calling and faul language (either it's toward me or not). -White skinny ish looking guys flirting with me. -Someone calling me gorgeous or something similar (I guess I've kinda gotten over this one...). -Someone starring at me. The first one is a big one. Last year, a classmate came up to me and tempted a hug (congratulating me), I freaked out, hit him and said 'no', explaining to him that I don't like hugs and i was sorry for hitting him. After that, people teased me about it. People tried coming up to me to give me a hug at random times. But to me, it felt like they were shooting with belts every single time they did. Once, some guys went all around me and all at the same time, hugged me from all sides. I was squeezed and they wouldn't let go. So I started crying. In the middle of school. I felt terrible for doing so. After that, I explained to the guys a little; that I don't like hugs because I was 'abused with hugging'. That's all I said though. And they left me alone. Understanding_Me
thought of another one... the feeling or even thought of a guy pressing against my back and feeling his manhood against my bum makes me shiver just thinking about it. body memories back it up. *shudders* and another... recalling that it could happen again... (connects with the fear that my first attacker could come into my room and possibly do something to me) Edited October 15, 2013 by Understanding_Me
