Technical difficulties

I'm a new member to the board, and I am having some problems with activating my account.  When I click on the first link that I was emailed, I get a message that says that the link was cut in half.  When I try to go through the manual registration, I get the same message.  Am I doing something wrong, or is this just a computer problem, and either way, how do I fix it?  Thanks.
