How are you?

On my way home from college today, I stopped by a Taco Bell to grab a bite to eat. The lady at the window asked how I was and I mumbled "good" and searched my purse for money. When I handed her the money she looked me in the eye and asked again because she didn't hear the first time. This just caught me off guard because usually people just ask without caring about the answer. And it also made me realize how little we know about the people we encounter every day. There can be so many things hidden just below the surface, even if their smile can fool everyone. So yeah. Just some thoughts. :)

I always find though that whenever you ask someone how they are or someone asks you how you are, the answer is always "fine" even when you have the weight of the world resting on your shoulders and I find this strange, too
It is the little things in life that make the difference. Seeing a caring face is one :)
