Go to "Your Control Panel" (in a new window, so you can still read this), click on "Email Settings" and then make sure the last checkbox is checked "Send a confirmation email when I receive a new private message".

While you're there, make sure the first check box is checked, so you won't get spam from uninvited guests of the board that harvest email addresses. If there are any other members you *want* to have your real email address, you can send it to them in a PM. Don't give it away to _everyone_.

Thanks, but I actually don't have that box in my control panel under email settings.

Privacy Settings
Hide my email address from other members
Send me any updates sent by the board administrator
Board Preferences
Include a copy of the post when emailing me from
     a subscribed topic
Receive only one notification of a new post between visits to
     the subscribed topic?

These are my four options - nothing about getting notifications in my email.

Oh well.

Thanks for responding.

Ok Go into account options, Then go to the Change the way icon board looks, and then go to change skin to Standard Ikonboard Skin  remember to save changes
and then when you go to where we suggested above it should be there.
Then you can go back and change the board skin back to normal.... I hope that helps.

This is what it will say on that page:
