A simple monosyllabic tone echoes throughout. The cry of a runaway against the prevailing winds and rain. She is alone in her time to fight. She must lose her sense of normality. She must not be in need or show her vulnerability. Yet to her dismay, she cannot relish in her new found freedom. She runs.
Tiny glass fibres etch into her skin. A spider's web, torn in the panic. All the triumph is lost. The asymmetrical patterns torn. No longer supporting each other or the glistening rain drops that cling to stay in such resounding entanglement. Tears of the sky releasing to the ground. Building to the flood. Now being the dominant force in the relationship.
Her reflection is a mere blur in the flooded path. Droplets racing; uneasy clarity. Erasing memories and time. Eroding expectations. Water covers the path entirely now. There is no where for her to go. To risk the fear of the unpredictable or to return to the entrapment. For now she stays still. Waiting.
