So the other day, I was sitting in my friends car in front of my apartment. It had been a pretty rough day, and something had triggered me and I just broke down. The friend I was with is the only one that I have ever told about my abuse. One of the biggest things that I struggle with is an intense hatred of myself, especially my physical appearance. I was expressing these feelings to my friend, and she was listening and just sitting with me and being supportive as she has been thru this whole thing. We had sort of stopped talking and were just sitting in the car, the radio was on quietly in the background. A song came on that I had never heard before, and the timing was just amazing. We listened to the whole song in silence, and as soon as it stopped we just both started crying together. The song is called Beautiful its by MercyMe, they are a Christian group. Its one of my favorite songs, so I wanted to share it with you all. Here are the lyrics:

I want to share this song with you, this song has helped me feel sane many a times when I've had a really low day, it sort of lifts me back up and makes me realise that even though bad things have happened to me, it doesn't make me any less of a person then anyone else.. So during the past three months, I have charged my father with my sexual abuse, my family always new about it...and I debated with myself about this decision for my entire adult life, about how I was supposed to feel about the abuse... and him...and my mother... now they have turned their backs on me...my mother has told me I will be going to hell because he is a better man now...her husband...lol..and I need to leave it alone!!...Well I get motivated every morning and night..with this blasting in my car during my commute to work...or a court appearance...my life plays like a movie when I hear this...and I usually sing at the top of my lungs on the way home...and at times even cry...which is a very healing ecperience for me....so here it is...
