I use trigger warnings whenever I feel they are appropriate. However, I have made posts where I didn't use any because I thought they weren't needed, but mods added them for me. On one hand, it confirms what I've been through was bad (especially considering these included posts regarding my parents' reaction to my survivorship, direct quotes from my attacker, and the harassment I've had to put up with from strangers), but on the other hand it feels as if any post related to abuse needs to have a warning, even if it doesn't go into much detail. I feel it's a more recent phenomenon that trigger warnings are needing to be used more often. Apparently students are requesting that trigger warnings be added to books, and I find this ridiculous. Any thoughts on the frequency and usage of trigger warnings?
