  1. Wouldn't this old world be better If the folks we meet would say, "I know something good about you!" And then treat us just that way? Wouldn't it be fine and dandy If each handclasp warm and true Carried with it this assurance, "I know something good about you!" Wouldn't life be lots more happy, If the good that's in us all Were the only thing about us That folks bothered to recall? Wouldn't life be lots more happy, If we praised the good we see? - For there's such a lot of goodness In the worst of you and me. Wouldn't it be nice to practice That fine way of thinking, too?- You know something good about me! I know something good about you! ~Author Unknown~
  2. Ugly - Sugababes When I was 7 They said I was strange I noticed that my eyes and hair weren't the same I asked my parents if I was OK They said you're more beautiful And that's the way they show that they wish They had your smile So my confidence was up for a while I got real comfortable with my own style I knew that they were only jealous cos People are all the same And we only get judged by what we do Personality reflects name And if I'm ugly then So are you So are you There was a time when I felt like I cared That I was shorter than everyone there People made me feel like life was unfair And I did things that made me ashamed Cos I didn't know my body would change I grew taller than them in more ways But there will always be the one who will say Something bad to make them feel great People are all the same And we only get judged by what we do Personality reflects name And if I'm ugly then So are you So are you People are all the same And we only get judged by what we do Personality reflects name And if I'm ugly then So are you So are you Everybody talks bad about somebody And never realises how it affects somebody And you bet it won't be forgotten Envy is the only thing it could be Cos people are all the same (The same, the same) And we only get judged by what we do (What we do, yeah, yeah) Personality reflects name And if I'm ugly then (Yeah, you) So are you So are you People are all the same (Oh, oh, oh) And we only get judged by what we do (What we do, yeah) Personality reflects name And if I'm ugly then (Yeah, so are you) So are you So are you
  3. Comes the dawn After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul and you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and company doesn't always mean security and you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes ahead with the grace of a woman not the grief of a child and you learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow 's ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much so you plant your garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure that you really are strong and you really have worth and you learn and you learn with every goodbye you learn. 5. I agree with those who've posted up Lucky and The lovely bones, both by Alice Sebold. Definitely worth mentioning again, Lucky was truly inspiring I have just this minute finished reading The little prisoner - Jane Elliott. I read it in 1 day. Hugely triggering, similar to the Dave Pelzer books which i've also read, but showed that with strength and courage, even the very worst and unimaginable of abuse can be overcome.
  6. I think most of the ones i can think of have already been posted. Hope this one hasn't though Blackbird flying - The Beatles Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise. Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these sunken eyes and learn to see All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise Blackbird fly Into the light of the dark black night Blackbird fly Into the light of the dark black night Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
