While I have hurt my inner arms some, I always made sure to not leave permanent marks there, and I've never hurt my wrists. I'd say my upper thighs would be where the damage is the worst. I have somewhere around 50 marks on my body, and the vast majority are on my right upper thigh. They're for the most part non-serious. The marks on my arms are very, very hard to see (some of them disguised as natural marks on the arm) and the worst ones are located on high on my left leg.
Obviously, people who injure their wrists do it for attention. Just kidding :)/> Truthfully, I do it on the legs for inconspicuousness; having hurt my arms, I know how difficult hiding it can be. When I was in Les Mis my junior year of high school, my costume didn't quite cover some little marks on my arm, so I had to wrap some fabric all around them (rather than use bracelets or long sleeves), which got me tons of unwanted attention ("Did you sprain your wrist?") but fabric was easier to explain ("No, this is an accessory. I'm making a fashion statement!") than self-harm.
