So Friday our school held a take back the night ceremony that I helped out in. It was very moving. So many people came and we had a rally. There was a march and speeches. Some people sang and other wrote poetry. Overall is was extremely intense. Some people even cried. At the end of the night there was a speak out section were people got up to talk about what had happened to them. It was extremely intense. Finally I was able to pull myself up there. It was so hard. I was choked up and I kinda messed up what happened to me. I said two guys raped me instead of one sexually assaulted me and another raped me. I was just really nervous so I accidentally messed up my story. :/ It was hard talking to people about what happened but it made me feel better. I hope everyone here has an opportunity to do this for it was truly a life changing experience. I will add more later but falling asleep right now. NIGHT!

That was very brave of you to speak in public about what happened to you. I am glad it helped you. Blessings

That was courageous of you! Way to Go! Me and my daughters attended a Take Back the Night in Joliet, IL in October of 2011! It was an Awesome experience for me to be able to speak out. I didn't tell our story but I did carry a sign and it felt so good to Break the Silence! Keep movin forward! I'm proud of you!
