1) I am not sure if the naming is cultural or not,
but at every family event,
He would point to one of the cousins
and they were put on the spot,
if you could name everyone in order,
you did receive a reward and every year
the list got longer.
It is cultural to name your ancestors
back for 7 generations
and my grandfather could do that
maybe to remember past and future family members ?
2) There is a member at the forum
that knows the story of Danusia
an European goddess,
she told it to me when I first joined.

my family doctor approves of this as
part of my reclaiming
When I signed up for the internet
years ago..............
My rapist helped me sign up
Danusia was her pet name for me
and she was going to email me
I never changed it
partly because of the European Goddess
and partly because it became part
of my Name day celebrations
another European tradition
that she introduced me to
and I still celebrate
Names and naming are both
powerful symbols and acts.
