so today, for the second time
i visited the site of my assault
last December 6 th
the national day of remembering
in Canada
both times I had the same support person with me
today felt differently from the other visit
today I was trying to make sense
out of a senseless act
an act that my assailant has shown no remorse
an act that still affects a year later
I am grateful to this support person
