death of a worker

she was a survivor of a residential school

she wrote a children's book about her experience

she was already terminally ill when I met her

she taught me about traditions from my heritage

her plans to help me ended when her cancer spread

she did introduce me to the staff at another centre

she encouraged my drumming

death of a friend

she lived in my building


I was able to buy a sympathy card for her children


I kept remembering her fave songs


I miss her in the community room

and at the annual bbq

her death brought up memories

of my friend's suicide

from 4 years earlier

and one worker

noted that

I had not finished

grieving my other friend

So in 2005, there was yet another heatwave,

and the air conditioners in my building stopped working.

Landlords are not required by law to provide air conditioning even for medical reasons it seems.

The air conditioning units were removed, leaving a huge gap in the wall.

I asked for screening and was told to just tape up some...

so i just got back from the dentist

my mouth is sore


I have not eaten much since yesterday


the weather outside is cooler


and my apartment is like a furnace

I went to one of my fave stores

the sales clerks known me by name

and my taste in clothes

they always encourage me to go

outside my comfort zone

Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms
