poem (about long therapy break)

WAITING FOR YOU

time edges forward in minuscule intervals
painful in its slowness
I don't need to check
the weeks, days, hours that I have to endure
until I am with you once more;
time is counting itself
with with every heartbeat
rhythmically
measuring the moments left
until I can sink
into your yellow couch again.
I hold my breath
through endless long weeks
nursing the pain and the fruitless longing
aching for you
from a depth I've never known
before I knew you.
I long for you -
to see you smile
to hear your voice
to be close you;
I long for the freedom
you give me;
when I'm near you
my heart expands
my mind runs free
I can breathe again;
your air is my air
your room is my room
your mind meets my mind
when I am in my cherished hour
with you.
