Pain.
It circles me endlessly,
Threatening to land
On the fertile precipice
Of my tenuous existence.
I cringe, awaiting its arrival,
Knowing the devastation it will cause;
The disintegration of my mind
Once intact.
No one can know this pain,
Except other sufferers of unspeakable truths.
We belong together.
We seek each other out.
We understand
Aloneness
Pain
Secrets and illusions.
We understand loss.
Pain;
Circles me endlessly,
Cutting through the promising horizon
Of my hopeful existence.
A slash of crimson;
Reality streaking across a brilliant sky,
Reminding me of wounds
Too deep to see or know.
Caverns of unexplored depths
Of ancient scars carved into fragile earth,
Taunt me
With an expectation
That I will have the courage
To explore and know
The painful truths
Buried
Beneath a rocky ground.
Pain;
Circles the unexplored canyons
Of my inconsequential existence.
A haunting reminder
Of the impossible path
Stretching out ahead.
