Years After

I was just a boy then, but I am becoming older.
Onward! To the future,
I march! My heavy feet leave no footprints
in the snow. They make no
sound.

Onward! I say! To the sunset,
like a rider in the wind - faster than the lightning!
I was just a boy then, but I was mighty!

Before the rain fell and dried up
into my leather skin.
Before this pit of a wound
began pouring,
open wide - your mouths sang.
The clangs of your
lies began deadening

these livened minds.
So, onward! To the future!
They leave no regards.

To them, from us.

Trigger Warning

Warning: Some of my poetry and prose may be triggering. I write just about as much about survivor issues as I do about love.
Please keep yourself safe.
