Will this fog dissipate
into the trees like wild bores fleeing from danger?
Along I float with it
because I am just the wind,
like any other wisp,
I go as I please,
(and occasionally leave notes

I dreamed you'd find them there,
on the breast of the valiant oak tree,
waiting for a soul as brave as yours
to venture into the woods
where not even the strongest of bores
dares to tread.)

Now, as delirious as I wish to be,
in the pits of the plains which were stripped of their majesty,
I dream of your somber voice,
two-tone like your torn clothes,
to show me how to love again.
I ache, like a fist, pounding at my chest
again and again, to no end,
for your tender kiss, or just a look
to remind me that you heard
my hidden thoughts.

You and I came of age
upon the dawn of
the separation of ignorance and

blasting through my hollow ears
like ice water
to my temples, where I ache,
red hot, filled with the absurdity
of our beginnings.

Trigger Warning

Warning: Some of my poetry and prose may be triggering. I write just about as much about survivor issues as I do about love.
