All The Bad Advise You Ever Gave Me - And Every Truth I Ignored

Posted by soulconstance , 09 August 2013 · 127 views

How can I push back the stinging rain
like thunderbolts arching inside of me,
and I pray to Poseidon (as if he can hear my plea)
that the rivers flood
till the entire world
is writhing at "sea level"
with me.

Then I wake to realize that other beings require the sun
and every morning epiphany
that I have danced around.

I have no desire to h...

You Had So Much Strength

And she said,
"You run away so easily
like you were a stag on the wind"
so gracefully we flew
into our own deception.

"One day those glasses will fall off"
and sure enough
with the glorious sunset,
the volcano erupted
deep and silent
like the whispers she spoke -
how she knew what lurked inside:

caverns wailing for the daylight
but not e...

Cus I Drank Too Much

I still have a split in my lip
the proof of my addiction
as it burrows itself deeper into my face
and I cry
begging it'll leave me
like a ghost I never knew

beg it to let my spirit go
leave me so I can heal

but all I want to do
is let it eat me away
till death
under it's pressure
(or love, as they say)
((none of them ever loved me
I was just a m...

Poetry Dump

Did you forget what I gave you?
My shattered wings frozen to your lips,
fluttered in my mind as you sleep -
little doilies resting on the coffee table she says
they make the world a little more worth
throwing your sadness into a little jar
so that you can tuck it away into the darkness
where it can grow into a friend
that gnaws as your heartstrings,

Years After

I was just a boy then, but I am becoming older.
Onward! To the future,
I march! My heavy feet leave no footprints
in the snow. They make no

Onward! I say! To the sunset,
like a rider in the wind - faster than the lightning!
I was just a boy then, but I was mighty!

Before the rain fell and dried up
into my leather skin....

Will this fog dissipate
into the trees like wild bores fleeing from danger?
Along I float with it
because I am just the wind,
like any other wisp,
I go as I please,
(and occasionally leave notes

I dreamed you'd find them there,
on the breast of the valiant oak tree,
waiting for a soul as brave as yours
to venture into the woods
where not even the str...

A Pile of Poetry

In the light
hindsight explodes
or implodes or dances or screams
the reality of
I forgot to relive
memories that spin
'like the exorcist on speed'.

Through the sour waves
to the sandy shore
of believing
that smiles mean everything
to everyone.
I forgot to speak
and to listen
that cobras disbelieve.

The transce...

Isn't it interesting? There's people trying to protect you.
You say no one cares. Pretending you're unloved because you believe yourself unloveable.
But here they are, protecting you. They're holding your hand as you cry.
It's another cry. Another cry for attention I'd say.
But I'm not in your mind. Not in your body.
And I don...

It's You...

Posted by soulconstance , 09 September 2010 · 66 views

I can't believe it's you
hiding behind the bushes
late at night with sunglasses on.
Because the reality is
that it's truly you
in my room at night,
sneaking through the window,
the stranger in the dark
with a ski-mask on. You're:
the people who ran the daycare
I went to as a young child,
the father of my best friend growing up
into a monst...

Thank You Snake

Posted by soulconstance , in Multiple Poems 07 September 2010 · 65 views

Thank you from my head to my toes
for putting me between a rock and
a rail of spikes that is by you
juxtaposed to my swollen, beating face.
Wrapping, wrapping a shoe lace
around my throat, to be a hanging puppet
to forget the future or my hippocampus -
cut by your eyes, waxed by your hand
and waning inside by the sun and moon.

Thank you from my heart to...
