Dude...I didn't know Tori covered that song!!!  Where do I get it?!  :surprise:</font>

I don't know where you can find it officially released, but I do know that I found it through a download service, but it was not very good quality.

I was emotionally abused and physically neglected (maybe physically abused, too, on the rare occasion) by my dad. There was no sexual abuse by my dad; I think the thing that most affected me that my dad did was abandon my family multiple times. He eventually abandoned us permanently when I was 20 years old, and the financial and emotional ramifications where huge.

About a year and a half ago, my dad came back into my life. He contacted us to let us know he was dying. I made the decision to stay with him at the hospice (with his girlfriend, who was only about ten years older than me) until he died. During that time, my dad and I made amends to each other (some of it was wordless, some of it was communicated through a priest, most of it was communicated through eye contact).

It didn't erase all the hurt, not at all. But it did help me to understand my dad, to realize that he was seriously flawed, but that he did love me and my sister, despite his flaws.

The song that speaks to me most about my dad, now that he is dead, now that the amends have been made, but the hurt still lingers, is the song "Daddy" by Jewel.

My bones are tired, Daddy

I don't get enough sleep

I don't eat as good as I could, Daddy

What's that say about me?

Sometimes I sleep past noon, Daddy

Drink lots of black coffee and I smoke like a chimney.

Yes, I left the refrigerator door half open, Daddy.

What's that say about me?

Sometimes I want to rip out your throat, Daddy

For all those things you said that were mean.

Gonna make you just as vulnerable as I was, Daddy

What's that say about me?

Sometimes I want to bash in your teeth, Daddy.

Gonna use your tongue as a stamp

Gonna rip your heart out the way you did mine, Daddy

Go ahead and psycho-analyze that.

'Cause I'm your creation, I'm your love, Daddy.

Grew up to be and do all those sick things you said I'd do

Well last night I saw you sneak out your window

With your white hood, Daddy

What's' that say about you?

I'm sloppy, what's that say about you?

I'm messy, what's that say about you?

My bones are tired, Daddy

Music plays a big part in my healing. Sometimes when I can not describe what I am feeling I will e-mail a song or 2 to myu husband so he can see what I am feeling and then he is there for me. Here are a few of my faves:

May TRIGGER**********************************

Pearl Jam, Black http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0CP9RVvm_4

Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay

Her legs spread out before me as her body once did

All five horizons revolved around her soul

As the earth to the sun

Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn

Ooh, and all I taught her was everything

Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore

And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds

Of what was everything?

Oh, the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed Everything...

I take a walk outside

I'm surrounded by some kids at play

I can feel their laughter, so why do I sear

Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin round my head

I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning

How quick the sun can, drop away

And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass

Of what was everything

All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...

All the love gone bad turned my world to black

Tattooed all I see, all that I am, all I'll be...yeah...

Uh huh...uh huh...ooh...

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star

In somebody else's sky, but why, why, why

Can't it be, can't it be mine

Shania Twain Black Eyes Blue Tears

Black eyes, I don't need 'em

Blue tears, gimme freedom

Positively never goin' back

I won't live where things are so out of whack

No more rollin' with the punches

No more usin' or abusin'

I'd rather die standing

Than live on my knees

Begging please-no more

Black eyes-I don't need 'em

Blue tears-gimme freedom

Black eyes-all behind me

Blue tears'll never find me now

Definitley found my self esteem

Finally-I'm forever free to dream

No more cryin' in the corner

No excuses-no more bruises

I'd rather die standing

Than live on my knees

Begging please-no more

Black eyes-I don't need 'em

Blue tears-gimme freedom

Black eyes-all behind me

Blue tears'll never find me now

I'd rather die standing

Than live on my knees, begging please...

Black eyes-I don't need 'em

Blue tears-gimme freedom

Black eyes-all behind me

Blue tears'll never find me now

It's all behind me, they'll never find me now

Find your self-esteem and be forever free to dream

Close My Eyes Forever Lita Ford and Ozzy Osborne

Baby

I get so scared inside, and I don't really understand

Is it love that's on my mind, or is it fantasy?

Heaven

Is in the palm of my hand, and it's waiting here for you

What am I supposed to do with a childhood tragedy?

If I close my eyes forever

Will it all remain unchanged?

If I close my eyes forever

Will it all remain the same?

Sometimes

It's hard to hold on

So hard to hold on to my dreams

It isn't always what it seems

When you're face to face with me

You're like a dagger

And stick me in the heart

And taste the blood from my blade

And when we sleep, would you shelter me

In your warm and darkened grave?

If I close my eyes forever

Will it all remain unchanged?

If I close my eyes forever

Will it all remain the same?

Will you ever take me?

No, I just can't take the pain

But would you ever trust me?

No, I'll never feel the same, Oh

I know I've been so hard on you

I know I've told you lies

If I could have just one more wish

I'd wipe the cobwebs from my eyes

If I close my eyes forever

Will it all remain unchanged?

If I close my eyes forever

Will it all remain the same?

Close your eyes

Close your eyes

You gotta close your eyes for me

Ooh Child (Beth Orton sings the version I have, but there are a bunch out there)

Ooh-oo child, things are gonna get easier

Ooh-oo child, things'll get brighter

Ooh-oo child, things are gonna get easier

Ooh-oo child, things'll be brighter

Some day, yeah

We'll put it together and we'll get it all done

Some day

When your head is much lighter

Some day, yeah

We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun

Some day

When the world is much brighter

Ooh-oo child, things are gonna be easier

Ooh-oo child, things'll be brighter

Ooh-oo child, things are gonna be easier

Ooh-oo child, things'll be brighter

Some day, yeah

We'll put it together and we'll get it all done

Some day

When your head is much lighter

Some day, yeah

We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun

Some day

When the world is much brighter

Some day, some day, some day

We'll get it together and we'll get it all done

Some day

When your head is much lighter

Some day, some day, some day

We'll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun

Some day

When the world is much brighter

Ooh-oo child, things are gonna get easier

Ooh-oo child, things'll be brighter

Ooh-oo child, things are gonna get easier

Ooh-oo child, things'll be brighter

Right now

You just wait and see how things are gonna be

Right now...

When you live in the midwest for 2 years you adapt.

You learn to love country music :)

Collin Raye - I Think About You

Chorus:

I think about you, eight years old,

Big blue eyes and a heart of gold.

When I look at this world,

I think about you and I can't help but see,

That every woman used to be,

Somebody's little girl.

I think about you.

*** this song reminds me of many parts ***

Between by Vienna Teng

we are not together here

though we lie entwined

to make room for the other presence

we both draw back in our minds

I have a prophecy

threatening to spill into words

this growing certainty

of Over

there once was a time I was sure of the bond

when my hands and my tongue and my thoughts were enough

we are the same but our lives move along

and the third one between replaces what once was love

freedom is being alone

I fear liberation

but something more alive than silence

swallows conversation

no pleasing drama

in subtle averted eyes

the swelling fermata

as the chord dies

there's no denying we feel the third one

we do

I'm tired of hiding and so are you

**** this song feels like something i could sing to little me ****

My Medea by Vienna Teng

inside the labyrinth walls

there lies a tiny child who sleeps alone

and as the daylight falls

the wind becomes so wild across the stone

for I have made her prison be

her every step away from me

and this child I would destroy

if you tried to set her free

so come to me my love

I'll tap into your strength and drain it dry

can never have enough

for you I'd burn the length and breadth of sky

for it's my thoughts that bind me here

it's this love that I most fear

and this child I would destroy

for I hold her pain most dear

no haven for this heart

no shelter for this child in mazes lost

heaven keep us apart

a curse for every mile of ocean crossed

for I must die for what I've done

a twist of fate a desert sun

for I see what I destroy

sweet reflection knife into me

for I see what I destroy

I can see what I've begun

**** for a sad mood, to be able to cry, i listen to this song **** its from donnie darko...

Mad World by Gary Jules

All around me are familiar faces

Worn out places, worn out faces

Bright and early for their daily races

Goin' nowhere, goin' nowhere

Their tears are fillin' up their glasses

No expression, no expression

Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow

No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny

I find it kind of sad

The dreams in which I'm dyin'

Are the best I've ever had

I find it hard to tell you

'Cause I find it hard to take

When people run in circles

It's a very, very

Mad world, mad world

Mad world, mad world

Children waitin' for the day they feel good

Happy birthday, happy birthday

Made to feel the way that every child should

Sits and listen, sits and listen

Went to school and I was very nervous

No one knew me, no one knew me

Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson?

Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kind of funny

I find it kind of sad

The dreams in which I'm dyin'

Are the best I've ever had

I find it hard to tell you

'Cause I find it hard to take

When people run in circles

It's a very, very

Mad world, mad world

Mad world, mad world

And I find it kind of funny

I find it kind of sad

The dreams in which I'm dyin'

Are the best I've ever had

I find it hard to tell you

'Cause I find it hard to take

When people run in circles

It's a very, very

Mad world, mad world

Mad world, mad world

A raunchy young world

Mad world

I have found many songs over the years that help me :D

here are a couple :

"Hold On" - Wilson Phillips

I know this pain

Why do lock yourself up in these chains?

No one can change your life except for you

Don't ever let anyone step all over you

Just open your heart and your mind

Is it really fair to feel this way inside?

[Chorus:]

Some day somebody's gonna make you want to

Turn around and say goodbye

Until then baby are you going to let them

Hold you down and make you cry

Don't you know?

Don't you know things can change

Things'll go your way

If you hold on for one more day

Can you hold on for one more day

Things'll go your way

Hold on for one more day

You could sustain

Or are you comfortable with the pain?

You've got no one to blame for your unhappiness

You got yourself into your own mess

Lettin' your worries pass you by

Don't you think it's worth your time

To change your mind?

[Chorus]

I know that there is pain

But you hold on for one more day and

Break free the chains

Yeah I know that there is pain

But you hold on for one more day and you

Break free, break from the chains

Some day somebody's gonna make you want to

Turn around and say goodbye

Until then baby are you going to let them

Hold you down and make you cry

Don't you know?

Don't you know things can change

Things'll go your way

If you hold on for one more day yeah

If you hold on

Don't you know things can change

Things'll go your way

If you hold on for one more day,

If you hold on

Can you hold on

Hold on baby

Won't you tell me now

Hold on for one more day 'Cause

It's gonna go your way

Don't you know things can change

Things'll go your way

If you hold on for one more day

Can't you change it this time

Make up your mind

Hold on

Hold on

Baby hold on

"Stupid" - Sarah MacLachlan

Night lift up the shades

let in the brilliant light of morning

but steady there now

for I am weak and starving for mercy

sleep has left me alone

to carry the weight of unravelling where we went wrong

it's all I can do to hang on

to keep me from falling

into old familiar shoes

[Chorus:]

how stupid could I be

a simpleton could see

that you're no good for me

but you're the only one I see

love has made me a fool

it set me on fire and watched as I floundered

unable to speak

except to cry out and wait for your answer

but you come around in your time

speaking of fabulous places

create an oasis

dries up as soon as you're gone

you leave me here burning

in this desert without you

[Chorus]

everything changes

everything falls apart

can't stop to feel myself losing control

but deep in my senses I know

[Chorus]

Cry by Jason Walker

Oh no, where did all the years go

And was it really worth all of this

Heartache that was handed to me

Holding on just don't make sense

But the hardest part of letting go

Is tryin' to find a way

To let you know

So we'll just cry, cry

On each other's shoulders

Cry until it's over

Can't it just be over

And we'll just cry, cry

Cry until it's all gone

Been holding on for too long

Time for us to move on

I'm tired of tryin' to find a reason why

So let's just cry

I've been thinking 'bout my life and

How much time I've wasted

I'm ready to put it all behind

Let it all be yesterday

But the hardest part of letting go

Is tryin' to find a way

To let you know

So let's just cry, cry

On each other's shoulders

Cry until it's over

Can't it just be over

And we'll just cry, cry

Cry until it's all gone

Been holding on for too long

Time for us to move on

I'm tired of tryin' to find a reason why

So let's just cry

Let's just cry

So let's just cry, cry

On each other's shoulders

Cry until it's over

Can't it just be over

And we'll just cry, cry

Cry until it's all gone

Been holding on for too long

Time for us to move on

And we'll just cry, cry

On each other's shoulders

Cry until it's over

Can't it just be over

And we'll just cry, cry

Cry until it's all gone

Been holding on for too long

Time for us to move on

I'm tired of tryin' to find a reason why

I'm tired of tryin' to find a reason why

I'm tired of tryin' to find a reason why

So let's just cry.

This one will probably mean more for survivors of date/acquaintance rape.

The song is "Little Lion Man" by Mumford & Sons. The lines that I think are healing are in the chorus. I imagine my rapist saying them to me and it gives me hope. "It was not your fault but mine. And it was your heart on the line. I really fucked it up this time, didn't I, my dear?"

I think it means so much to me because my rapist was my best friend and I loved him. So I need to be able to hear him admit that it was his fault, that it was my heart and that he fucked up.

Here's a link if you'd like to hear it:

Rachel Proctor

Remember That.

Remember,

How he told you

You were stupid

How he couldn't even look at you anymore

Remember,

How he told you

You were crazy

How he got out of the car and slammed the door.

He said, "You can't do anything right.

Why you gotta make me so mad?

Just get out of my sight."

Remember that

When it's 3am

And he's at your door

And he wants you back

And he's beggin' for

Forgiveness

Remember that

When your phone keeps ringing

All night long

And that same old' weakness

Gets so strong and you're

Remember That Lyrics

Helpless

Remember that

Remember,

How he pushed you in the hallway

Just enough to hurt a little bit.

Remember,

The whiskey in his whispers

And the lies that fell so easy from his lips.

He said he'd never do it again

But he can't take it back

The proof is on your skin

Remember that

When it's 3am

And he's at your door

And he wants you back

And he's beggin' for

Forgiveness

Remember that

When your phone keeps ringing

All night long

And that same old' weakness

Gets so strong and you're

Helpless,

Remember that

It doesn't matter how he hurts you

With his hands or with his words you

Don't deserve it

It ain't worth it.

Take your heart and run

Just run

When it's 3am

And he's at your door

And he wants you back

And he's beggin' for

Forgiveness

Remember that

When your phone keeps ringing

All night long

And that same old' weakness

Gets so strong and you're

Helpless

Remember that

Remember that.

Remember you're gonna be alright

Take it from me; I've stood there in your shoes

hello darkness my old friend, by Simon and Garfunkel

Hello darkness, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again,

Because a vision softly creeping, Left its seeds while I was sleeping,

And the vision that was planted in my brain,

Still remains, within the sound of silence.

In restless dreams I walked alone, Narrow streets of cobblestone,

'neath the halo of a street lamp, I turned my collar to the cold and damp

When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light

That split the night, and touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw, Ten thousand people, maybe more.

People talking without speaking, People hearing without listening,

People writing songs, that voices never share.

And no one dared, Disturb the sound of silence.

"Fools" said I, "You do not know, Silence like a cancer grows.

Hear my words that I might teach you, Take my arms that I might reach you."

But my words like silent raindrops fell,

And echoed, In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed, To the neon god they made.

And the sign flashed out its warning, In the words that it was forming.

And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls

And tenement halls." and whisper'd in the sounds of silence.

So the other day, I was sitting in my friends car in front of my apartment. It had been a pretty rough day, and something had triggered me and I just broke down. The friend I was with is the only one that I have ever told about my abuse. One of the biggest things that I struggle with is an intense hatred of myself, especially my physical appearance. I was expressing these feelings to my friend, and she was listening and just sitting with me and being supportive as she has been thru this whole thing. We had sort of stopped talking and were just sitting in the car, the radio was on quietly in the background. A song came on that I had never heard before, and the timing was just amazing. We listened to the whole song in silence, and as soon as it stopped we just both started crying together. The song is called Beautiful its by MercyMe, they are a Christian group. Its one of my favorite songs, so I wanted to share it with you all. Here are the lyrics:

Days will come when you don't have the strength

When all you hear is you're not worth anything

Wondering if you ever could be loved

And if they truly saw your heart, they'd see too much

You're beautiful

You're beautiful

You are made for so much more than all of this

You're beautiful

You're beautiful

You are treasured, you are sacred, you are his

You're beautiful

Praying that you have the heart to fight

Cause you are more than what is hurting you tonight

For all the lies you've held inside so long

They are nothing in the shadow of the cross

You're beautiful

You're beautiful

You are made for so much more than all of this

You're beautiful

You're beautiful

You are treasured, you are sacred, you are his

You're beautiful.

Before you ever took a breath

Long before the world began

Of all the wonders He possessed

There was one more precious

Of all the earth and skies above

You're the one He madly loves enough to die

You're beautiful

You're beautiful in His eyes

You're beautiful

You are made for so much more than all of this

You're beautiful

You are treasured, you are sacred, you are his

You're beautiful

You're beautiful

You are made for so much more than all of this

You're beautiful

You're beautiful

You are treasured, you are sacred, you are his

No matter my mood or what's on my mind, this song always manages to make me giddy.

It's Alright by 311

Stay with me

Here with me

Right in this instant

Not in the distance

When your head is off in future time

That's the place when things get out of line

Taking in this moment

Your time is so well spent

It's alright

Wherever you are right now

I tell you it's alright

That's where you're supposed to be now

Stay with me

Here with me

Right in this instant

Not in the distance

Standing at a crossroads, I was at a loss those

Temporary moments pleasures that are stolen

Here in the present

Your time is so well spent

It's alright

Wherever you are right now

I tell you it's alright

That's where you're supposed to be now

That's where you're supposed to be now

A song, one song, could end a war, could end the war

A song, one song, could end a war, could end the war

(Around we go, around we go)

A song, one song, could end a war, could end the war

(Around we go, around we go)

It's alright

Wherever you are right now

I tell you it's alright

That's where you're supposed to be now

It's alright

Wherever you are right now

I tell you it's alright

That's where you're supposed to be now

That's where you're supposed to be now

one of my favorite songs is youv'e got a friend by carole king

When you're down and troubled

And you need some loving care

And nothin', nnothin' is goin' right

Close your eyes and think of me

And soon I will be there

To brighten up even your darkest night

You just call out my name

And you know wherever I am

I'll come runnin' to see you again

Winter, spring, summer or fall

All you have to do is call

And I'll be there

You've got a friend

If the sky above you

Grows dark and full of clouds

And that old north wind begins to blow

Keep your head together

And call my name out loud

Soon you'll hear me knockin' at your door

You just call out my name

And you know wherever I am

I'll come runnin', runnin, yeah, yeah,

to see you again

Winter, spring, summer or fall

All you have to do is call

And I'll be there, yes I will

Now ain't it good to know

that you've got a friend

When people can be so cold

They'll hurt you, yes, and desert you

And take your soul if you let them

Oh, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name

And you know wherever I am

I'll come runnin, runnin', yeah, yeah, yeah

to see you again

Winter, spring, summer or fall

All you have to do is call

And I'll be there, yes I will

You've got a friend,

you've got a friend,

ain't it good to know,

you've got a friend,

ain't it good to know,

ain't it good to know,

ain't it good to know,

you've got a friend,

oh yeah now, you've got a friend,

yeah baby, you've got a friend,

oh yeah, you've got a friend.

Mine is healing begins by tenth avenue north, Trigger warning if you go to the link I prive due to the pictures- the video was made specifically for sexual abuse.

Healing begins- pictures may trigger

The lyrics are

So you thought you had to keep this up

All the work that you do

So we think that you're good

And you can't believe it's not enough

All the walls you built up

Are just glass on the outside

So let 'em fall down

There's freedom waiting in the sound

When you let your walls fall to the ground

We're here now

This is where the healing begins, oh

This is where the healing starts

When you come to where you're broken within

The light meets the dark

The light meets the dark

Afraid to let your secrets out

Everything that you hide

Can come crashing through the door now

But too scared to face all your fear

So you hide but you find

That the shame won't disappear

[From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/t/tenth-avenue-north-lyrics/healing-begins-lyrics.html]

So let it fall down

There's freedom waiting in the sound

When you let your walls fall to the ground

We're here now

We're here now, oh

This is where the healing begins, oh

This is where the healing starts

When you come to where you're broken within

The light meets the dark

The light meets the dark

Sparks will fly as grace collides

With the dark inside of us

So please don't fight

This coming light

Let this blood come cover us

His blood can cover us

This is where the healing begins, oh

This is where the healing starts

When you come to where you're broken within

The light meets the dark

The light meets the dark

This is a song by Shaina Noll, from the album "Songs for the Inner Child." I SERIOUSLY recommend this album for anyone dealing with CSA, ir any other form of childhood abuse:

"How could anyone ever tell you

you were anything less than beautiful?

How could anyone ever tell you

you were less than whole?

How could anyone fail to notice

that your loving is a miracle.

How deeply you're connected to my soul."

A great song for connecting with your Inner Child!

I want to share this song with you, this song has helped me feel sane many a times when I've had a really low day, it sort of lifts me back up and makes me realise that even though bad things have happened to me, it doesn't make me any less of a person then anyone else.. So I want to share with you all and to say that you all too are STARS!!!!

James - She's A Star

Whenever she's feeling empty

Whenever she's feeling insecure

Whenever her face is frozen

Unable to fake it anymore

Her shadow is always with her

Her shadow will always keep her small

So frightened that he wont love her

She builds up a wall

Oh no, she knows where to hide in the dark

Oh no, she's nowhere to hide in the dark

She's a star

She's been in disguise forever

She's tried to disguise her stellar views

Much brighter than all this static

Now she's coming through

Oh no, she knows where to hide in the dark

Oh no, she's nowhere to hide in the dark

She's a star

Don't tell her to turn down,

Put on your shades if you can't see,

Don't tell her to turn down,

Turn up the flame.

She's a star

It's a long road

It's a great cause

It's a long road

Its a good call

You got it,

You got it,

SHE'S A STAR

This is another song I like as the lyrics are beautiful and well connected.

She walks to school with the lunch she packed

Nobody knows what she's holding back

Wearing the same dress she wore yesterday

She hides the bruises with the linen and lace, oh

The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask

It's hard to see the pain behind the mask

Bearing the burden of a secret storm

Sometimes she wishes she was never born

Through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone

In a world that she can't rise above

But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place

Where she's loved concrete angel

Somebody cries in the middle of the night

The neighbors hear but they turn out the light

{ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/m/martina-mcBride-lyrics/concrete-angel-lyrics.html }

A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate

When morning comes it will be too late

Through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone

In a world that she can't rise above

But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place

Where she's loved concrete angel

A statue stands in a shaded place

An angel girl with an upturned face

A name is written on a polished rock

A broken heart that the world forgot

Through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone

In a world that she can't rise above

But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place

Where she's loved concrete angel

Matthew West Broken Girl

Look what he's done to you

It isn't fair

Your light was bright and new

But he didn't care

He took the heart of a little girl

And made it grow up too fast

Now words like "innocence"

Don't mean a thing

You hear the music play

But you can't sing

Those pictures in your mind

Keep you locked up inside your past

This is a song for the broken girl

The one pushed aside by the cold, cold world

You are

Hear me when I say

You're not the worthless they made you feel

There is a Love they can never steal away

And you don't have to stay the broken girl

Those damaged goods you see

In your reflection

Love sees them differently

Love sees perfection

A beautiful display

Of healing on the way tonight

Tonight

This is a song for the broken girl

The one pushed aside by the cold, cold world

You are

Hear me when I say

You're not the worthless they made you feel

There is a Love they can never steal away

And you don't have to stay the broken girl

Let your tears touch to the ground

Lay your shattered pieces down

And be amazed by how Grace can take a broken girl

And put her back together again

This is a song for the broken girl

The one pushed aside by the cold, cold world

You are

Hear me when I say

You're not the worthless they made you feel

There is a Love they can never steal away

And you don't have to stay the broken girl

You don't have to stay the broken girl

Tenth Avenue North

There's a girl in the corner

With tear stains on her eyes

From the places she's wandered

And the shame she can't hide

She says, "How did I get here?

I'm not who I once was.

And I'm crippled by the fear

That I've fallen too far to love"

But don't you know who you are,

What's been done for you?

Yeah don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

Well she tries to believe it

That she's been given new life

But she can't shake the feeling

That it's not true tonight

She knows all the answers

And she's rehearsed all the lines

And so she'll try to do better

But then she's too weak to try

But don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

'Cause this is not about what you've done,

But what's been done for you.

This is not about where you've been,

But where your brokenness brings you to

This is not about what you feel,

But what He felt to forgive you,

And what He felt to make you loved.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

You've been remade

You've been remade.

You've been remade.

You've been remade.

I'm not afraid to be honest with You today

The only thing I'm sure of is You

I never knew about grace before You called my name

Before You touched my face with Your hand

Even when I'm falling, confused, and I'm frightened

and my faith is afraid to be real

You, You know me; help me to want You, help me to want You

You, You know me; help me to love You, help me to love You

I'm not alone in this fight, but I still want to run

You are the rock I say I stand on

I never knew about love before Your healing touch

You always hold that open door

Even when I'm angry, I'm hurt, and I'm broken,

won't You help me to fall on my knees?

You, You know me; help me to want You, help me to want You

You, You know me; help me to love You, help me to love You

So during the past three months, I have charged my father with my sexual abuse, my family always new about it...and I debated with myself about this decision for my entire adult life, about how I was supposed to feel about the abuse... and him...and my mother... now they have turned their backs on me...my mother has told me I will be going to hell because he is a better man now...her husband...lol..and I need to leave it alone!!...Well I get motivated every morning and night..with this blasting in my car during my commute to work...or a court appearance...my life plays like a movie when I hear this...and I usually sing at the top of my lungs on the way home...and at times even cry...which is a very healing ecperience for me....so here it is...

Dixie Chicks

Not Ready To Make Nice

Forgive sounds good...

Forget..Im not sure I could

They say time heals everything...But I'm Still Waiting

I'm through, with doubt.

Theres nothing left for me, to figure out

I've paid a price, And I'll keep Paying

I'm not ready to make nice,

I'm not ready to back down

I'm still mad as hell, and I don't have time to go round and round and round

It's to late to make it right.

I probably wouldn't if I could

'Cause I'm mad as hell, Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should!

I know, you say,...

"Can't you just get over it?"

It turned, my whole world around..

And I kinda like it!

I made my bed, and I sleeep like a baby,

With no regrets and I don't mind sayin'

It's a Sad SAD story when a mother will teach her

daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger!

And how in the hell can the world can the words I said...

send somebody so over the edge?

That they'd write me a letter,

sayin that I better SHUT-UP AND SIT (it say sing..lol) or my life with be OVER!!!!

I'm not ready to make nice,

I'm not ready to back down

I'm still mad as hell, and I don't have time to go round and round and round

It's to late to make it right.

I probably wouldn't if I could

'Cause I'm mad as hell, Can't bring myself to do what it is you think I should!

What it is you think I should.....

Forgive....Sounds good....

Forget....I'm not sure I could....

They say...Time heals everything....

I'm still waiting
